Description of Services: The Mental Health Association provides information and referral services to those diagnosed with a mental illness and/or their families. They host a large group of Community Education programs that are aimed at helping to identify mental health issues more quickly and providing information on where to go for services.

The MHA provides the following: In-Home-Respite, Compeer for Children, Compeer for Adults, Anxiety & Depression Support Group, Adolescent Support Group, Hospital Advocacy, Mental Health Treatment Court Advocacy, Community Education, Mental Health First Aid Training for Adults and Children & Housing Advocacy.

Description of Services: The WYCA of the Niagara Frontier is a non-profit agency that provides support services to individuals and their families through programs that include counseling, Domestic Violence education and prevention programs, before and after school childcare and pre-school.  The YWCA also hosts a Catering Crew Educational Program that creates endless job opportunities and room to grow!

Eligibility: 5-17 years old with behavioral health disorders (ie. mood disorders, anxiety, PTSD, schizophrenia, suicide prevention, etc.)

Description of Services: 12-bed inpatient psychiatric unit provides safe and supportive care for children in crisis and offers individualized treatment plans based on the emotional, psychological, medical, and social needs of the child.

Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center Health Home is a coordinated care management program providing services to all Medicaid eligible clients with chronic conditions in Niagara County.

Eligibility: People who have Medicaid or are Medicaid eligible AND people with medical conditions like Diabetes, Asthma, Obesity, Substance Abuse, Alcohol Abuse, etc. OR people with serious mental illness like Schizophrenia, Bipolar, Major Depression, etc. OR people with HIV/AIDS.

Description of Services: Comprehensive care management, health promotion, transitional care including appropriate follow-up from inpatient to other settings, patient and family support, and referral to community and social support services. The Health Home services are paid for by New York State Medicaid. There is no out of pocket expense to the client.

Eligibility: Resident of Niagara County, ages 12-17 years old. Behaviors have to be happening in 2 out of 3 of the following environments: home, school, and community

Description of Services: Intensive home-based program that meets with parents 2-3 times per week. It is a prevention program that works with parents to address their child’s behaviors that put then at risk. It helps parents to increase their parenting skills; build natural support networks; and empowers them to effectively work with formal supports such as school, probation, and court.
