2017 Summer Reading Program

Summer Reading @ the Library!

Newfane Public Library has a summer reading program for everybody! The 2017 Summer Reading Program runs from June 19th – August 18th and is designed to encourage reading during the summer months.

Kids & Teens

For kids and teens, read/listen to library books or magazines* over the summer and get a prize as well as a chance at a bigger prize!  The more books or magazines you read/listen to, the more chances you receive!  The Kids program – for non-readers through kids going into 5th grade and the Teen program – for teens going into 6th – 8th grade and any Senior High students who don’t want to participate in the Adult program. Sign up at the front desk at the library to receive a summer reading program bag with rules, program information and other goodies!

Adults

For adults and Senior High students who don’t want to participate in the teen program, every library book read/listened to* – and this can include library eBooks and audiobooks –  is a chance at winning one of more than 7 prizes!  Tickets are available at the front desk beginning June 26th.

*Library books and audiobooks can be physical items checked out of the library, or eBooks and/or audiobooks downloaded from OverdriveHoopla, or Zinio!

Craft Station

Daily June 26th – August 18th: Visit our craft station when you visit the library & make a summer craft! Each week will be a different craft!

  1. Is there a book club for adults in Newfane? I would love to join one

    • There is! The Wine & Book Club meets the 2nd Wednesday of the month at Shoppe On Main (www.shoppeonmain.com) at 7pm. Unfortunately, we are on hiatus for August, but we’ll pick back up in September! Keep an eye on our website or our Facebook page for the title we will be reading. All are welcome.
